On the evening before Legislative Day this year, the Hemophilia Council of California launched our first ever Future Leaders Alumni Reception! On Monday, March 20th from 7:30 – 9:00 PM, we invited previous Future Leaders to join us for appetizers and beverages in Sacramento at Cafeteria 15L, a restaurant right across the street from the State Capitol.
At this alumni reception, former Future Leaders reconnected with others who had participated in the program in different years. The alumni compared experiences, shared stories and advice. This year’s attendees included Future Leader alumni from three different decades!
Our Future Leader Alumni were also introduced to this year’s class of Future Leaders. They shared their favorite parts of the program. The teens asked questions that ranged from college life to advocacy opportunities after being a Future Leader. NHF’s Washington Days came up frequently in conversation as one example of other ways teens and young adults can continue their involvement in advocacy.
If you are a former Future Leader, we encourage you to join the Future Leader Alumni Network to learn about more opportunities like this one to connect with other former Future Leaders! Join Today!
